To celebrate our integration with MailChimp, this is the third in a three-part blog series about email marketing for personal injury law firms.
In the first two posts in the series, we talked about why personal injury firms should be using email marketing and how they can start setting up email marketing processes.. After reading the first two articles, your law firm will be ready to dive into email marketing.
While getting started is often the hardest part, figuring out what types of emails to send can also be difficult. Here are some ideas to help kick start your personal injury firm’s email marketing.
4 Email Marketing Ideas for Personal Injury Firms
Firm Newsletters
Newsletters are one of the most common forms of law firm email marketing. They are a great way to update your contacts on your firm’s activities while keeping you top of mind. Since newsletters are so general, you can send them to all your contacts, from clients to referral sources. Some things you can include in your newsletter are:
- Your firm’s blog posts
- Highlight a new or current employee
- Recent verdicts
- Volunteer work your law firm has done
Newsletters are an especially great tool to use in conjunction with content marketing. The more content your law firm has, the easier it will be to craft new firm newsletters.
To be most effective, your firm’s newsletter should be sent monthly or quarterly.
Client-Specific Case Updates
You know you work hard on your clients’ cases, but they may not. Clients who see progress being made on their cases are happier. You can use email marketing to keep your clients updated on the status of their cases.
Some case management solutions, like CASEpeer, make this easy. If you use our integration with Mailchimp, you can easily add clients to different email campaign lists when their case status changes.
For example, if you transition a client from “Demand Writing” to “Demanded,” you can add your client to a My Case is Demanded email list. This campaign may include one or more emails educating the client on what this stage of the case will mean for them.
Birthday and Holiday Messages
Sending a birthday or holiday message is a simple gesture, but it shows clients you care.
Your clients don’t have to know the message is automated. Many email marketing services will send the email for you. Here’s how you can automate birthday messages in Mailchimp.
Ask Clients for Reviews
Modern personal injury clients pay attention to online reviews. The more positive reviews you have, the better off your law firm will be. Most clients won’t leave a review without being asked, so you can use email as your opportunity to do so.
You may not want to send this email to everyone, and you don’t need to. Start by identifying clients who would be good candidates for reviews. Add them to an email list and send each client an email after their case has closed. You may be surprised by how many clients respond!
